“This delicious Christmas dessert is made out of rice porridge mixed with whipped cream, vanilla, and chopped almonds. In addition, there is one hidden whole almond in the risalamande. The person who finds the almond will get an extra gift during the Christmas celebrations. This usually helps on the number of second helpings!! It is a tradition not to reveal who has the almond until all the pudding has been eaten which is part of the fun. (Over the years, our Danish family has had a lot of laughs trying to figure out who has the almond.) The delicious and easy Christmas dessert is usually served cold with warm cherry sauce (kirsebærsauce).”
